Are You or Do You Know a Senior Living Alone?

Supporting Seniors Living Alone,

An Important Research Opportunity.

Walking Football NSW is committed to supporting the health, wellbeing and dignity of older Australians, both on and off the field. We are sharing information about an independent research study being conducted by The University of Sydney, which aims to better understand the experiences of seniors who live alone and those who support them.

This research focuses on people who live alone and may be experiencing changes in their thinking or memory, as well as family members, friends, or carers who support someone in this situation. The goal of the study is to improve understanding of their priorities and identify areas where additional support may be needed.

Participation involves a confidential interview, conducted at a convenient time either by phone, online, or face-to-face. Interviews take approximately one hour, and participation is completely voluntary and confidential. The study has been approved by The University of Sydney Human Research Ethics Committee.

If you are a senior who lives alone and are experiencing changes in memory or thinking, or if you know and support someone who does, you may wish to consider participating or sharing this opportunity. Your experience or insight may help researchers better understand the needs of seniors living independently.
